Shot a feature for The NY Times on plan for shutting down power lines in heavily forested areas east of San Diego during wildfires. This charred tree was a remnant from a fire 6 years ago that swept through the Cleveland National Forest near Julian, CA. I decided to point my off-camera flash at a low angle shooting up to give the tree a more textured look. It’s a little sad that it’ll probably take a lifetime for these woods to grow back to a healthy vibrant forest. Mother Nature sure works slow.
