About

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I am a freelance photographer in San Diego, CA covering news, sports, corporate, and documentary assignments for magazines, newspapers, annual reports and other media outlets around the globe. My work can be seen regularly in The New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, Navy/Marine Times, Education Week, and on the wires with Getty Images, Bloomberg News and The AP. My goal is to use this blog as a vehicle to talk about how to make a better image by pushing the boundaries of photography. I’d like to explore composition, how to better approach situations, how to grow from mistakes, how to better use ambient light sources as well as ramblings about the freelance photography industry.
